As the title reads, I'm in first place. I thought I had a solid team, but injuries and slumps are beginning to cut into my lead. Take a look: 5x5 + OPS, 2b, and TB; IP, K/9, and Losses. Redraft.

I think that I have a solid offense and solid Relief pitching. My starting pitchers are my weak point.

SO................. I sent a few offers and got these back:

I get: Mauer, Pedro Martinez
for
Barret, M. Tejada, and Bannister (guy from the Mets)

If I were to do this deal, would I be hurting my offense too much???

I can get I. Kinsler by trading away a bench guy. So, would Kinsler or Eckstein, or the combination of both, be enough to replace Tejada? And would this trade be enough to keep my team in the lead???

Your team lacks speed, but in your league setting it doesnt matter.



The only thing I would try to improve on is starting pitching, everything else seems like you should do well in. Your pitching may look good now, but I would only really rely on Myers and Haren to have good seasons, the rest I think are flashes in the pan (with the exception of Kazmir, he is going to be very good one day, and it very well could be his breakout year this year, but I think he is going to be a bumpy ride for owners this year from here on out.).

errr he did say 5x5 which would include SBs. While I'm not crazy about either of them replacing Tejada, I think I still like the deal for you. You improve your pitching, grab a better C (as long as he stays healthy).

And like you said, your trading Morales after a few more games, so I'd probably see if I can package him and one of those SSs for a better on if you can. Lots of options, just another hole to fill.

I would try to improve on Bonds in the outfield. See if you can try to trade him away for another outfielder. Maybe some clueless owner doesn't know much about baseball and has heard the name Barry Bonds and about him having the second most home runs ever. Just a suggestion you dont have to do it but i would try to upgrade their.
