Everyone knows Cy Young; not everyone can remember his real name: Denton True Young. So where did "Cy" come from?

As I recall it has something to do with a minor league field he played at where he would warm up by throwing balls at the cyclone fence that served at the outfield "wall" at that park.

Cyclone is right. I've heard all sorts of versions about where that came from, from the fence to his windup. Does anybody know this for certain?
