if it's just inflammation, it shouldn't be a big deal--and he should be fine for the 2nd half.

hey--if not, color me an ass, but to return from a surgery and a follow-up cleaning isn't beyond reason. happens all the time.

I think a lot of fantasy players are in denial this year. It's looking more and more like some big arms are not gonna do diddly-squat this year other than ride the bench with injuries: Gagne, Harden, Wood (big shocker), Sheets (I own the bum), and (almost inevitably) Prior, etc.

At least if they're hurt you can just dump them on the DL for no further injury to your team. WHIP assassins like Doug Davis (why do I keep starting this bum?) just stay around and weight down your team like an anchor.
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.

I wish someone would put a "NOT" in this thread title -- I keep coming in here expecting to see good news :-B My secret suspicion -- Gagne tried to get the best of that garbage bag again, and that's why he's had the relapse! :-b

looks like Gagne might go back to the DL. and might call Chad Billingsley..

according to yahoo:

Jun 11 Gagne (elbow) will likely be placed on the disabled list prior to Tuesday night's game, the team's official website reports.
Recommendation: "Right now, he's still not able to throw a bullpen," Little said. "That's not something we like." Gagne will probably be replaced on the active roster by Jeff Kent, who is set to come off the DL the same day. Another scenario could have Joel Guzman sent back to Triple-A and Chad Billingsley recalled to help the struggling back end of the rotation.

Well, as of right now, I think we could use Billingsley and Kent more than Guzman and Gagne. Our bullpen is still really solid with Baez, Saito and Broxton, and Billingsley I am salivating to see...we could also use Kent's bat back in the 4 - spot again. A lineup of
Furcal
Lofton
Kent
Garciaparra
Kemp
Drew
Aybar
Martin
Pitcher
seems pretty great, even though I'm pretty sure Kemp and Drew will be switched, this is just the lineup I'd want, as Kemp is such a beast. It is really sad about Gagne, but Billingsley and Kent are greatly needed right now.
