I've owned Zambrano for years, so I'm used to the Cub bullpen blowing his wins.

So being a Cubs fan, maybe you've heard something about this. Right now, Howry is listed as the backup closer. If they give up on Dempster, do you think they go to Howry. I know Eyre is doing pretty good as well. Thanks!

Dempster is going nowhere. The reason he blew 2 saves this week is that for the last month he's RARELY gotten a chance to pitch in the 9th inning, let alone in a save situation.

I think the Cubs are going nowhere. And Dumpster has lost his confidence and clearly his control. (See footage of past few outings). If he's on your squad, I pity your ERA...

While it's difficult to endorse a mediocre RP, Dempster has value in future months if he can hang on to the job.

The Cubs will likely provide more SV opps if/when Prior and Dlee return, and having Wood back helps Dempster's value too. Unfortunately, Dempster's short term value isn't so great when Aramis hits 6th in a lineup that features Neifi Perez.

Remeber, for the secon dhalf of last year and part of htis year, dempster was untouchable. Sure he's going through a rough stretch now, but its not like he just got the job, he's proven he can handle it

And only a rocket scientist would bet his loot on the Cubs Dempster this season. Good luck. ;-7
