wilkerson is on the bench again....vs a lefty, im really just not sure whats going on. they claim he has a sore wrist, which seems fine when they face a righty. only thing i can think of is that buck showalter is so desperate to keep derosas bat in the lineup that he is doing this until derosa gets cold (which he's starting to already)

I hope it's really an issue with his wrist. I mean, they could easily bench Nevin who has been doing nothing lately and let Wilkerson DH.

ARLINGTON -- Brad Wilkerson was out of the lineup for the third time in five days on Monday as he continues to tend to a sore right wrist.
Mark DeRosa started in right field and Kevin Mench moved to left. Wilkerson's wrist is not serious but he is expected to receive an anti-inflammatory injection after Wednesday's game.

With the Rangers off on Thursday, Wilkerson would have 48 hours to let the injection take effect and he would be ready to play Friday against the Chicago White Sox.

The opposition had a left-hander on the mound in each of the three games that Wilkerson was not in the lineup but that hasn't mattered to him. Wilkerson went into Monday's game hitting .290 against left-handers and .256 against right-handers.

Wilkerson is expected to be in the lineup on Tuesday with Mench getting a day off.
