Made a couple trades, hows my team looking?

Postby jealousblues » Fri May 26, 2006 1:07 pm

Ok, I traded Jon Garland and Mark Loretta for Chone Figgins
and I traded jim Edmonds and Mark Mulder for Jason Bay
Hamels went on the DL so I picked up Felix Hernandez, and for my empty roster spot I picked up Jason Philips.

C K. Johjima (Sea - C)
1B P. Fielder (Mil - 1B)
2B C. Figgins (LAA - 2B,3B,OF)
3B M. Ensberg (Hou - 3B)
SS M. Tejada (Bal - SS)
OF V. Guerrero (LAA - OF)
OF S. Podsednik (CWS - OF)
OF J. Bay (Pit - OF)
Util R. Sexson (Sea - 1B)
BN B. Phillips (Cin - 2B)
DL H. Matsui (NYY - OF) DL

SP F. Hernández (Sea - SP)
SP J. Verlander (Det - SP)
RP B. Lidge (Hou - RP)
RP M. Rivera (NYY - RP)
P B. Fuentes (Col - RP)
P K. Escobar (LAA - SP,RP)
P J. Contreras (CWS - SP)
BN F. Liriano (Min - SP,RP)
BN D. Haren (Oak - SP)
BN K. Wood (ChC - SP,RP)
BN R. Clemens (Hou - SP) NA
DL C. Hamels (Phi - SP) DL
DL J. Patterson (Was - SP) DL

Did I give up too much in trade? Did I trade away too much pitching? (Garland I really didnt like, and mulder was having a good year but i dont trust him).

well i think your relievers will be fine..altho i think you should start looking at WW to help your U position...C and 1B could be problem areas later as rookies tend to hit a rookie wall...i believe your pitching will be ok tho.. just my opinion
if you cant hang with the bigdawg get on the porch :)

If you've got 3 DL spots then you're fine, but if not, I'd drop Matsui as he wasn't doing that great before he got hurt, and I don't expect much from him if he makes it back for the last month of the season. I like the trades you made. I think they made your team better. You relievers are strong, but you really don't have a legit ace on your team. Some of those guys could turn into one, or occasionally perform like one, but it's always nice to have a guy that you can count on almost every start to give you a QS. Just my $.02. ... p?t=209457

I just want to know what league you play in where you can trade mulder and edmonds for Bay? I hope his excuse is he's a Cardinals fan...And you owned on your other trade...Loretta and Garland for Figgins? WOW....and what league has King Felix on the WW. Im guessing youre in a public league that isnt very competitve...Its nice for your chances to win, but it sounds boring...sorry :-P ... p?t=209627

Yeah, we have 3 DL spots.
welkl its my 2nd year and im learning.
I agree about my 1b,(if Fielder tanks it, maybe Sexon comes around) and i want a top pitcher. I dont know what to do about that (my best chance is a couple of my lesser pitchers show some potential and I could trade them).

Try this on for size ... IM the Cardinal fan and he is from Pittsburgh.\

Felix was just dropped for Armas, because I guess he was sucking. His loss my gain.

anyway its a league from a site where we all visit.
Last year, my first year, I led for months...then lost the first game of playoffs and came in third.
