Gagne?

Postby Dave8603 » Fri May 26, 2006 11:23 am

Gagne is a free agent in my 9 person league and I could pick him up. I really need the closer help. Right now I have Lidge and Nathan and I'm dying. Problem is, there's only 1 DL spot in the league and I have 4 guys on the DL so if I get Gagne theres another wasted spot. Is there any news on Gagne? I need to pick him up before someone else does but soon enough to when he gets back that I don't waste a spot.

Grab him immediately. He's scheduled to come back June 1.

says Rotowire:

Eric Gagne: (Elbow) Looks Good Pitching Batting Practice - 5/24/2006 8:18:11 AM

Update:
Gagne (elbow) threw all his pitches during a batting practice session Tuesday, the LA Times reports.

Recommendation:
Cesar Izturis described his stuff as "filthy". "You could tell by the reaction of those hitters up there the stuff he had," manager Grady Little said. "It was a pleasant sight." Gagne is scheduled to pitch Friday and Monday for Las Vegas before being activated when the Dodgers open their next homestand on June 1.

The last thing I read about him is that he was very anxious about making his first rehab start today (May 26th, 2006). He also commented that he wanted to come back ready to go, not come back so he could get ready to go. Says a lot about him. If you want him, go & get him: I did.
"It's 106 miles to Chicago... we've got a full tank of gas, 1/2 a pack of cigarettes, it's dark & we're wearing sunglasses...

Hit it."

Pick him up if he is still there. You should see him back with the Dodger's by end of next week hopefully.

Eric Gagne: Earns Save at Triple-A

RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
Saturday, May 27, 2006
Update: Gagne (elbow) earned a save by retiring the side in the ninth inning for Triple-A Las Vegas during his rehabilitation assignment Friday, the Associated Press reports.

Recommendation: Gagne threw 17 pitches, 11 for strikes. "I felt good out there and had good results," Gagne said. "I felt good about throwing strikes. I'm not where I want to be right now, but my arm felt free. My elbow felt good and my arm felt good." Gagne said he had "good arm speed and rotation on the ball." He is scheduled for one more relief stint Monday before he returns to the Dodgers. Gagne owners should be ready to activate him upon his return.

Fantasy Baseball is a Marathon, not a sprint..........get Gagne NOW! He has the ability to more than make up for a few days of an empty roster spot.

I have 2 DL spots and have 4 guys on the DL plus Clemens who is N/A. 3 guys on my bench doing NOTHING, so I'm treading water until my boys kick into gear..............then I'll catch up and pass the pack

Get GAGNE before it's too late

Post your team so we can help you decide who to dump

Now I too have chosen to gamble, filling a bench spot with Gagne, due to an overflowing list on the DL. But the fact is it's no better than a coin toss whether Gagne comes back, regains some of his former glory, and maintains his health this season. We are not playing solid odds here in our hopes for Gagne's success. God knows my fingers are crossed but that it an obvious reality to consider.
I think Gagne is a player many of us favor big and hold onto based on how f ing awesome he was in the past. We'll see soon...
