Who knows. He has had elbow problems in the past, so maybe he is pitching with some discofort. Or maybe he is just simply stinking the place up. The Astros will never fess up to it if he is hurting so there is simply no way to know.

It's wierd, he's had 4 HORRIBLE starts sandwiched between good to great starts... two starts ago, he threw a CG shoutout on the rockies. I thought my troubles were over with Petite and then the Nats of all teams blow him away.

It's especially frustrating, because after each gad game, I bench his next start, which he throws well in, then I put him back in, and he has one of these days.

Here's the best explanation I can give you...

Andy Pettitte BABIP

Last year was a bit of a fluke, but he's much better than he's throwing this year. He'll be alright, but I'd expect closer to a 3.50 ERA than last year's crazy 2.39.

While I agree that last year was a career year and I dont expect him to do quite that good again. However, he was very successful in the AL and successful pitchers from the AL tend to dominate in the NL. I wouldnt say it was really a fluke as much of it was a career year.
