$20-$25 should do it and if you have customers who want more than just a single cut and/or more than just a mowed lawn, give discounts as needed. Build a reputation. As far as a flyer goes, keep it simple. If you live in a location where you get snow, offer snow removal too. Get organized. Get a spreadsheet put together to keep things in order. You don't want to miss a lawn or forget to charge.

But you would also need a regular mower for tight places. Don't forget that.

Only old people get their lawns cut?? Not sure what it costs to advertise there but every little bit helps, especially if you're just starting out.

Same here. A bit of a pain, but when there are 3 different area codes in a city (Fort Worth has two, Dallas has three), I can see why dialing the area code is required.

I'd beware of doing any sort of 'monthly rate' deal. If you get the wrong sort of weather, you'll be mowing every week for the $40!
