haha. you really have no idea what youre talking about.
Im not defending Marriotti. Hes an A$$-clown. The thing about the Cubs is, they have built up these expectations for the fans, '04 was a let down but we were over .500. '05, it was supposed to be the year, we had it all ready to go. We finished under .500. Now, next season we will probably only return two starters, Zambrano and Marshall. Thankfully Marshall is kind of good otherwise things would be . If Prior can come back and be healthy the rest of the year they have to keep him. No way they keep Wood though, he is terrible. If they can go get a Zito and an Escobar, and on top of that add a Bat like Sorianos and put him at Second base, or go get Carlos Lee and tell Murton tough luck, and hope Pie is good, this team can be good again, but they do need a lot of turnover.

Ok real quik ..
You realize this is the Cubs right? The same Lovable Losers that you grew up watching, "no matter what" ..
When and where did Cubs fans start talking like this ?
If they can go get a Zito and an Escobar, and on top of that add a Bat like Sorianos and put him at Second base, or go get Carlos Lee and tell Murton tough luck, and hope Pie is good,
thats what I am trying to figure out ..
At what point did the Cubs fans start thinking that they were annual contenders?

about 4 years ago when they got jim hendry and started spending substanitial money.
yet still well below what they could be spending.
More like when Dusty took them to the brink of the WS. Prior to his arrival, it was three decades of fourth place, and you all have been trying to chase him out, ever since.
again. .. what Cubs manager has had a higher winning pct, over the last three decades.

What can you point to as the reason the Cubs should keep Baker?
They blew a chance to make the playoffs in '04. They were under .500 last year. They just got swept by the marlins this week, and oh the White Sox won the world series. A change has to be made somewhere, and the axe usually falls on the manager. Sorry Dude, I mean, Sorry Dusty.
