Obesity rates for Australians have doubled over the past 20 years, with 62 percent of men and 45 percent of women now deemed overweight or obese.

Pretty soon it will be fat Aussies instead of fat Americans.

I actually know a woman like those in the story though. All of her pets are way, way overweight, and she just keeps right on shoving food down their throats. Guess she will learn the consequences of her actions pretty soon. Sad too, because she really loves all of her pets, but won't listen when people try to point out the obvious.

I dropped my daughter off at school today, and one of her friends was there eating breakfast. It consisted of one of those six-packs of powdered donuts from a gas station and some sort of energy drink like gatorade or powerade or something.

The kid's mom sits there and that he won't go to bed before 10pm, but then she feeds him all of this sugar! You have to wonder about people.

That's good practice. Unfortunately we fed ours some scraps now and then. Having a 6-year old doesn't help break the habit.
