I don't know whether to be chuffed that I was right about him (being done), or sad that a once great career is coming to an end. I'm not saying he won't be effective through this year (after which he will retire) but $16m worth? Not a chance.

Shrug, this was easy to predict.

Johnson has made enough money. It's not worth it anymore to pump more steroids into his body and as a result, he's now getting lit up.

Look for Steinbrenner to play hardball with him during the offseason in buy-out negotiations. They may even threaten to send him to Columbus.

If RJ has any pride as a player or a man, he'll hang it up after this year.
