Niemann will start the Year in AAA. He has pitched very well, but friedman wants his pitchers to have 200 innings combined from AA and AAA so Niemann will continue in AAA and becalled up this season sometime.

As deerayfan said, Niemann should start in Durham and depending on how he pitches, possibly be up in the summer for the Drays.

Thanks for the insight. I cant wait to see what he is capable of. Now if we can only get Olsen B-) or another quality SP, the East will be ours. :-B ;-)

Woah, slow down Nelly, we are still a few years away. Delmon has to mature, Longoria and Brignac need to continue to impress and make theirselves into the Tampa lineup, the first base/DH spot needs to be cleared up, and most importantly the bullpen has to be fixed. The rotation actually has some decent upside with Kazmir, Niemann, Davis, Sonnanstine, Shields, and several other good young arms in the lower minors. I seriously doubt we will ever have a top 5 pitching staff in the majors due to the AL East, so our offense has to become a top 5 offense for us to possibly contend in the East.
