Gave up Jorge Julio. Seems like a very good deal, he should have some immediate impact in the rotation.

As long as he's going to be a 4 or 5 starter, it's OK. But, it's still Benson for El Duque--and I'd rather have Benson.

Solid upgrade.

Something had to be on the backburner when Omar made the Benson trade. I wonder what fell through.

Zito would be my guess.

Anyway, not a bad first outing for El Duque from what I can tell. I wasn't able to watch the game. Seems like he still has some control issues but 10 minutes with Peterson will clear that right up. :-D

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

El Duque resigned. 2 years, $11M or $12M total depending on which report you believe. I like that El Duque is back although this seems a bit pricey.
