In 2004, he had 5 HRs through end of May and still hit 38 for the season:

I was suspecting his AVG might climb a bit w/ age but that hasn't really panned out and the power hasn't been there so far. I didn't get a shot at him anywhere as all my teams ended up being towards the bottom of the draft but I'm glad I didn't get the chance at it.

I am still suspecting that having a new kid has got to play a role in this. Even if they have a nanny or whatever it's got to be rough to play baseball and have junior around while you are not performing up to where he'd probably have wanted to have been himself.

Believe it or not there was actually a study on this one time...I think they found that performance went up with 1 or 2 children but started declining at 3. As the parent of a 6 year old and twin 2 year olds that sounds about right.

Yes, that's what I was hoping for drafting in the 1st, possibly getting 30-100 out him.

30-100 is like 4th round material...might as well have drafted Konerko.

Look if he is going to hit me 30 HR the rest of the way then I won't complan but for god's sake I draft him expects at least 40 HR from him, I could have pick up Vald, so I guess us Tex owners do have the right to bash him..............

This is exactly what I was thinking. I could have taken someone else easily and if I wanted 30HR's I would have taken someone else. So until he heats up and looks like a 40HR hitter I will bash him all year long. If he is on my team or not.

Well, no one will make the mistake of drafting him in the first round until at least 2008, and probably not even then.
