But that's no longer the question--the question is whether he will put him 1st rounder numbers in the remainder of the season.
I don't know why you would think that he can't put up 1st round numbers.
In 2004, he had 5 HRs through end of May and still hit 38 for the season:

Yea your right. And in 2004 he did not have 1st round caliber numbers.

Yes, and those were 3rd round numbers.

Yes, that's what I was hoping for drafting in the 1st, possibly getting 30-100 out him.

30-100 is like 4th round material...might as well have drafted Konerko.
he was being sarcastic "why would I ever draft someone who MAY get 30-100 in the 1st round."
And Konerko is such a steal. Essentially a lock for 35-100-100
I know he was being sarcastic, im not stupid. I was just affirming his point that Texeira will not put up first-round numbers this season.
Look if he is going to hit me 30 HR the rest of the way then I won't complan but for god's sake I draft him expects at least 40 HR from him, I could have pick up Vald, so I guess us Tex owners do have the right to bash him..............

This is exactly what I was thinking. I could have taken someone else easily and if I wanted 30HR's I would have taken someone else. So until he heats up and looks like a 40HR hitter I will bash him all year long. If he is on my team or not.

Well, no one will make the mistake of drafting him in the first round until at least 2008, and probably not even then.
