Eduardo Perez is quite awful against righties, so I wouldn't want him starting.
I highly doubt any team would want to take Boone and his $4millon contract, even if they are desperate at 3B.

They should move Peralta out of the 3rd spot and play Hollandsworth more, IMO

Perez has proven time and again that he is not a regular in the majors. He's a good bat off the bench and as backup but nothing more. Garko will play 1B very soon.

The rotation has gone to hell, its almost at the point where I vote to call up Sowers...almost. Boone needs to be traded to get Claussen, Michael Aubrey can go to the Pirates for Marte. A.Marte is called up.

Thats all I can come up with off the top of my head.

As my favorite team, I deseperately am trying to find an answer for the Indians. I honestly think the team is underperforming, the team on paper looks very good.

Why in the world would the Reds trade for Boone and then give up Claussen? They have Edwin firmly penciled in there and his defense is slowing progressing. That makes no sense whatsoever. If anything the Indians would offer pitching to the Reds for Denofria or Bruce.

If the Reds ever trade Bruce I will officially name them them the worst franchise in baseball. He has Grady Sizemore written all over him. That said, I guess the Reds have Freel as their utility guy now that Phillips established himself and they do not need durability in Boone.

Why not trade Garko? He is a C is I remember correctly. I can't see him being an upgrade at C or 1B right now.

The Indians offense is fine the pitching is the problem.

Now I've heard it all. Sabathia and Cabrera for Bruce. The Tribe does need to move Peralta down for a bit, but here's the levelheaded answers:
1) Don't worry about Marte. I'm concerned about his numbers, but running hot-and-cold on young players isn't the right response. Despite the fact that I think he's replacement player level, the Indians still messed up with B. Phillips and they don't need to repeat the mistakes with Marte.
2) Leave the bullpen largely as it is. Only utilize Mota in mop-up for now, but other than that players are beginning to revert back to form.
3) Look to trade for a nice lefty RP. D. Marte would be a nice addition, but this should be a goal to reach near the AS break when a little less may be needed to grab someone.
4) Chill out, everyone. I think you'll see some cosmetic changes to appease the freakouts, but management still believes in this team and I don't see any reason to drastically alter my impressions of anyone. We know what we're getting with Boone, Byrd, etc. And anyone that didn't see a step back year for Peralta was kidding themselves.

Bottom line, this team doesn't look like it's well situated to make the playoffs. But people, this is Cleveland. We haven't had a team win anything since '64 for a reason! <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif>

Well the main reason is he can't catch. He is more of a DH that might play some 1B, but will have to with Hafner in Cleveland along side him. I got to see Garko quite a bit in Kinston a few years ago, and he can flat out hit anything thrown near the plate, he just can't play defense worth a nickel.
