Yeah, people in fantasy baseball, particularly the newbies, tend to way over react to a young guy on a hot streak or a proven veteran stud on a cold streak. 9 out of 10 times, grabbing the cold vet over the hot rookie pays off over the long run.
This last week I've vultured both Giles and Pettite... I'm not worried at all.

I'm right there with you on that one. I've managed to vulture the likes of Dontrelle Willis, Furcal, Giles, and King Felix as a result of over reacting managers. HOWEVER, I'd imagine you'd feel a little differently if you drafted Giles and Pettite in the 5th-7th rounds. Probably a little more cause for concern if that were the case.
Giles was dropped in my league a few days ago, no one has picked him up. It's an 8 team private league on Yahoo.
I've picked up Ramon Hernandez, Barry Zito, Mark Prior, & Chad Tracy so far, after they were dumped by their owners.
