Didn't he start hot last year as well and then have a 5.00ERA for the second half of the year?
nope plus his control has gotten a lot better this year.
its a joke if hes not on here..
5 wins 2.78era 60k's 1.07 whip.. theres only a couple pitchers better then him so far this year.. if that..

Go watch verlander throw than youll know all you need to know
I'll give it a whirl. Here are my present top 10 fantasy starters:
1. Johan Santana
2. Pedro Martinez
3. Jake Peavy
4. Scott Kazmir
5. Brandon Webb
6. Chris Carpenter
7. Mike Mussina
8. Roy Halladay
9. Tom Glavine
10. CC Sabathia
-------------------
Roy Oswalt, Carlos Zambrano, John Smoltz, Josh Beckett, Curt Schilling, Dan Haren, Jason Schmidt, Kenny Rogers, Justin Verlander, Chris Capuano, Bronson Arroyo
By year's end, I think the rankings will normalize with Oswalt up there, but with Smoltz, CC Sabathia, and Schilling making serious runs at the rankings.
i think all you guys demanded kazmir, capuano, verlander etc.... dont realize this isnt WHO HAS BEEN the best but an overview for the rest of the season as well...

Kazmir definitely has the potential to have a great season. I wouldn't be suprised if he kept close to his current pace.
i have got to say, watching verlander and kazmir in the recent weeks, they are both more than able to keep pitching very well and will likely both be top 10 come years end.
kaz has a lively heater with good movement to go with a devastating slider ala RJ, while verlander just throws absolute gas that actually has a nice tail to it.
