Anyone seen this kid pitch? He's been pretty solid and isn't giving up many hits. Any info on this guy would be great. Thanks.

I hear ya man. This kid looks great. Too bad everytime he busts his butt the bullpen bkows it for him. He should have 2 wins now.

He is posed, has great command of all pitches. I am in love. Now, if he could get traded to the Bo Sox or Dodgers, I would be wearing his jersey. I owned him for a week but the true test is this week v.s. Mets. If he does well again.....I will own him for the rest of the year I think.

how about that outing against the mets yesterday. Kid has been great overall but hasn't given up an earned run at home yet in 20 innings.

Looks great, but...

It'll be interesting to see how he does during the 2nd half of the year, when the league has had more opportunity to scout him and develop some more strategy for how to hit him. Also, he won't be winning a lot fo games on that team, no matter how well he pitches.

when he faced atlanta the second time, the braves announcers were marveled over the fact of how polished that he looked...and the way that he kept hitters off balance with his pitches.

He outpitched Pedro Martinez, and that is saying something because of how powerful the Mets lineup is.

Is this kid in the starting lineup for good? Rotoworld doesn't seem to think so:

Latest News

May. 26, 2006 - 10:24 pm et

Josh Johnson struck out a career-high eight batters and held the Mets to just an unearned run in seven innings of work on Friday to improve to 4-2.
Johnson walked just two and gave up a pair of singles in the outing. He's now given up a total of five earned runs in 29 2/3 innings of work over five starts. Johnson should cool off eventually, but he still should have some value in NL-only leagues while in the rotation. He's certainly worth using while playing well and facing the Giants next time out.

Sounds like he's got the tools and the size and he's put it together.
