Anyone else find it extremely difficult to drop Beltre? I'm in a 11 team roto and I just can't drop him. The guy has even less value than an ordinary crappy hitter as I'm afraid he'll be burning a hole in my bench all season. I may need to seek counseling for this problem.

I know it's hard... he's been dropped in my 12 team league and not picked, and there are some smart guys in my league, so that should tell you something.... If you've got plenty of bench spots, just put him on the pine in case he ever snaps out of it, but the smart money seems to think he's not going to.

Sooner or later, he'll come around. He's been hanging out on my bench all year, but he doesn't seem to be doing any damage there, so what the heck.

He's gone from my team as soon as Brian Roberts comes off the DL.

He's dropped in both my leagues.

Hopefully the over abundance of drops can open up your eyes.

I'd drop him if you have a better option. Even in deep leagues, his value is limited because he bats 5th-7th in a pretty weak lineup.

Since the 2005 break, he's batted .234 with limited power. Given that he's a career .269 hitter, I doubt he's going to return to his 2004 numbers.

There are probably some pitchers who have a better slugging average than his .275. Sad, but true.

if you know what's good for your sanity, then please drop him. i think he single-handedly cost me to finish in 2nd in my main league last year. i drafted him in the early 3rd round, pick 20-something, and could never bring myself to drop hime. I played him all year long at 3rd, for every single one of his pathetic at-bats. He just killed me. His amazing seasons 2 years ago must have been steroids-induced, imo. It's evident both in his production and his physique.

The only reasons I've kept as long as I have are the Roberts injury and the fact that Beltre was stealing a lot of bases early on. Unfortunately, that has dried up and now he's all but worthless.
