Gary Sheffield (wrist, hand) is expected to play in a rehab game with Double-A Trenton on Monday and might be able to re-join the Yankees as soon as Tuesday for the middle game of the series in Boston. "He'll get his timing with us," manager Joe Torre said

Gary Sheffield finished 1-for-3 with a sac fly as the designated hitter for Double-A Trenton on Monday night.
Sheffield should be in right field against the Red Sox on Tuesday night. It's unlikely that he'll be all that productive right away, but go ahead and activate him. His return will result in fewer at-bats for Andy Phillips and Miguel Cairo. Bernie Williams will be needed in center field for at least another day or two. May. 22 - 9:51 pm et

The Yanks radio station reported after Sheff's rehab game today, he took his car and headed for Boston (Trenton is pretty close to Boston). That might be sarcasm, but my guts say he will be at Fenway tomorrow night.
