Kerry Wood owners - what are you doing this week

Postby mushman05 » Mon May 22, 2006 10:53 am

I'm suprised there wasn't a thread on this.

Anyway, I own Wood in two of my weekly lineup change leagues. I'm definitely playing him in one but not sure if I sit him for David Bush or Ollie the legend Perez in the other. Last I heard is that its likely he'll get pushed back a day or two.

What are you guys doing with him?

I would play him none of those guys are worth playing and Wood even if his starts are pushed back hes a much better option.

I am about ready to drop him for a 2 starter this week(moyer, Garland). I do not trust Wood. He should not be sore like this that many days after a start.

The guy just came off surgery and a knee scope during spring training set him back as well....hasnt pitched in a major league game in 8 1/2 months! I don't think some soreness is THAT out of the question. I wouldn't drop him for Moyer or Garland either...there's gotta be something better than that if you wanna drop Wood. I'd be patient and give him another start. Did you pick him up off the waivers, or did you hang onto him all season to drop him after one start?

Sure, it definitely looks like you can afford to lose him, thats a great staff! I'd probably hang onto him, though, until either Patterson or Clemens return and evaluate then. There has been no confirmation that Wood is going to miss any starts, just might take an extra day off. And he only had 2 minor league appearances before his debut, so a little soreness is perfectly reasonable coming off Labrum surgery.
