Honestly when he pitched that gem in Tampa last week i thought his skid was finished and now he gets shelled by the rockies im tired of turning on the TV and watching Towers pitch like crap i think they should keep Jansen in the rotation and when Burnett comes back Jansen can take Towers spot and Towers should get Sent Down, Sent to the Bullpen or just get sent away for good

Chacin should be back next Tuesday against BOS. There is no way they can send Jassen down now. I would like to see one more game out of Ty Taubenheim, but I dunno if we will get that chance.
I kinda like Towers too, in the good guy sense of the term, but as long as he's pitching like this there's just no way you can keep trotting him out there anymore with those kind of splits. His ERA is over 8.50, so it's not like his record's a fluke or anything.
I'd give him this one more start against Tampa since he's done well against them before, but if he screws this one up I'd banish him to either the bullpen or Syracuse. I was under the impression that the waiver issue was really the big reason they were holding on to him, but now that that's resolved (and there's no fear of losing him) I don't see any reason to keep trying this any longer. This team has obviously shown it can be seriously competitive without him.
You've got a diamond, You've got nine men You've got a hat and a bat, And that's not all..
Well, I suspect we have probably seen the last of Towers after tonight. Lifted in the 2nd inning after another brutal start, this time against the one team he had had a good game against all year.
I posted this in the Game Commentary section, but I suspect either Downs or Taubenheim will get the call full-time in the rotation until Burnett gets back, I just can't see any way they can continue going on with this anymore.
His ERA is up to an even 9.00 now, 45 ER in 45 IP..

Finally..
Rejoice!!
Hopefully he can find his groove back and re-emerge as some kind of quality pitcher. If not, though, then Janssen seems to have some sort of stuff, and hopefully for everyone Burnett will come back and contribute like he was supposed to.
