It is Putz's job to lose. He has been near perfect since he "took over" the job. He has yet to blow a save, and he's notched back to back saves. ;-D

i don't think it was ever really a committee. After Guardado was bumped Putz has done a good job, so it's his job for now. He's been putting up some solid peripherals. Unfortunately SEA isn't that good, so the SV have been lacking a bit.

Putz has been wicked as the closer and I don't see him loosing the job barring an injury or a disster.

Just got this from the Seattle Times:

"Manager Mike Hargrove said Sunday that he still hopes to put Eddie Guardado back in the closer role at some point.

"That's the goal, to do that," Hargrove said. "I really feel we're a better team, and have a better bullpen, if he's the closer." Guardado has been good since being demoted to a setup role, but J.J. Putz has done just fine filling in for him as closer."

Sounds a lot like what we heard in Boston and Texas. I can't see Guardado getting the job back when Putz is doing as well as he is.

UGH!

I dropped Paps for Baez long ago. The Paps keeps closer role. Then Cordero goes bonkers and loses his job. Then Gagne is recovering fast and Baez implodes and goes to committee closer role. Then Cordero does great in bullpen.

Now Putz and Walker are available and I am afraid to drop COrdero or Baez for one of them. And I HAVE to drop one of those two.

Grrrrrr.....right now I am leaning towards Baez...but then Gagne will be re-injured and Baez will dominate I am sure.

My luck....grrr

I love this game !+)

This is pretty much a no brainer. Drop Baez (who has lost his job and will lose it even more in a week when Gagne returns) and grab Putz!
