Doh! Can't believe I didnt get this one...

Scioscia was exposed to radiation
Mattingly was kicked off the team because of his sideburns
Sax was in prison
Boggs was knocked out by Barney
Ozzie fell into that portal
Strawberry played..but was pinch-hit for
Griffey overdosed on something.. his head enlarged
Canseco was saving a burning house
Clemens thought he was a chicken

yep that's correct. Griffey overdosed on Brain & Nerve Tonic which gave him gigantism.
