Eric Byrnes raking

3 consecutive games with a HR and a bunch of hits and ribbies in the past week or two for the Diamondbacks. I don't know much about the guy, but his recent hot streak has caught my attention. What kind of hitter is he? Anyone thinking about picking this guy up yet?

When he started for the A's back in 2004 he was a guy I thought who had 20/20 potential -- he hit 20 HRs, stole 17. But he bounced around so much last year from Oakland to Baltimore to Colorado, he never got a chance to settle. I think he could easily go 100/20/70/.275 and steal about 20 it just depends on how many starts he will get because I think they like to play DaVanon in CF a lot too.

He's like Craig Wilson. He has insane hot streaks, then he comes back down to earth and is waiver wire material. It's nice to see players like Byrnes do well, 'cause he flat-out hustles and clearly loves playing the game, but based on his history it's a longshot that he'll keep this up all year. I'd say pick him up while he's hot and then when he cools off, drop him for the next player who's heating up (who by that time will probably be Craig Wilson, of course).
