One comercial kills me, but it may be regional... so some of you may have never seen it. I know they play it all the time on NESN during Sox games:
Dunkin Donuts...
Swimming... soccer... ballet.... oboe.... and one more time... KARATEEEEEE HIIIIIIIII-YAAAAAAAAH
Really strange ad with a mom and her kids in an SUV... and they chant those activities, and when they get to "KARATEEEEE" the mom sneers as she says it, and the kid does the karate pose. I can't stand it... my kids can't stop COPYING it...
I also hate those Red Roof Inn commercials ... they and the Dunkin commercials are on CONSTANTLY during Sox games.

Oh my god! I can't stand that commercial!
I get really embarrassed for I don't know who but when I see it I just feel very weird. I can't stand it.

Mission Accomplished for them.
brings up a good point: is negatively associated recall a positive for the marketer? i think it depends.
if the negative recall is attributable less to the focus product/service and more to the presentation, your point is valid.
in the example given, however, red roof inn looks cheap(er than it already is) and unclean(er than it already is). that's not the sort of exposure anyone wants, especially a hotel. yes, i think most of us recall the ad, but it serves as a reminder to avoid the inn at all costs.
btw, the home depot song makes me want to run full-tilt into a wall.

While this may be true, I think for the average viewer just getting the name in their minds is all they want. When searching for a hotel to stay at, they see Red Roof Inn, and it sounds familiar. I'd rather have a good commerical though if I was them.

Going to huge someday.

There are like three IT guys with a boom box hanging out (one dancing) and a dude busts into the room in a panic because he doesn't know what's going on. They answer all his questions in like 5 seconds and turn the boom box back on. I don't know why, but I get a kick out of that one...
I still like the magic fridge one too...
I hardly get any Sprint commercial at all but... that song is stuck in my head now "oh, baby baby, baby baby..."
as to a good commercial? The Gatorade commercial with Jordan missing the busser, Giambi safe at home, Montana incomplete was pretty good.

haha those commercials are so bad!!
To go along with the guy's "remote" joke in the commercial...I'm "multi-tasking!"
