Well... I've only used 3 team names that I can remember (in baseball). The one that I've been using on Sandbox for the past 5 years is September Swoon. It seems to fit the way my teams act most times. The other two names I've used are the Waveland Avenue Souvenir and Not Ready for Pastime Players. In Hockey I tend to go for Blue Line Bombers, or the like... in football I have been the Gunslingers for a couple years, although I also use Gritz Blitz in some leagues to distinguish what team is what. I once used Primordial Groundswell, but no one understood, and the Insolent MF's didn't go over so well. I use Floor Runners in Basketball (boring, I know) but I'm not in to it that much. I'm trying to remember what my favorite team name is I've seen, but usually it's when a team has a great logo or helmet that reflects how I generally feel about them.
Well, after putting together a team with Griffey, Santiago, Kevin Brown, Randy Johnson, and Curt Schilling, I decided to call my team Grumpy Old Men. My other team is a play on words and is named GIDP about WHIPs.
Going to school at the University of Texas, it's a great SRV song (who came from the Austin Blues scene), the regional tie is obvious, and Floods can mess people up and are hard to contain or withstand.
