Fantasy Baseball Team Names

Postby Guest » Tue Mar 30, 2004 3:06 pm

The past 2 years my team names were...

2002 - The Fighting Cock Knockers

2003 - Nice Beaver

And since I won the league with Nice Beaver last year, I am using it again in 2004. Of course, if I start off rough ... I may change it during the season.

Amish Mafia. Enough said. I have won my league 8 years in a row with it; I'm just 16. When you beat a league full of 35 year old men, it sticks

Team Names

Postby Jarrod32 » Thu Apr 01, 2004 6:35 pm

Our league(s) have always had a real City/place in all the team names. My team name has been (for some 15 years now) the Lynchburg Lemmings. Some other favorites:

Hamburg Buns
Babylon And-Ons
New Delhi Subs
Vicksburg Inhalers
Forest Gumps
Prince Albert Cans
Chesapeake Bay Retrievers
Santa Anna Kournikovas

One year we had a guy back out at the last minute, and we recruited my brother - who was quite reluctant - to take the team, at least for that year. He promptly named his team the Diamond City Rubes.
There's a madness to my methods...

well, two of my buddies who're actually brothers sometimes like to share fantsasy teams. their team name is actually a play on their actual names:
Adam and Steve :-o :-D :-o
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.

I was dragged over here to a Cafe league from the football side. I'm a reluctant baseball fan biding my time waiting for football season.
Thus, my team is currently: Baseball is 4 Wusses
Blessed are the cheesemakers.

Last year, I managed a team called 'the Knucklers' which featured Tim Wakefield and Steve Sparks. Their performances throughout the year were as unpredictable as their knuckleballs.

I'd like to form a team of all left-handed players/pitchers this year in the mid-season league called "The Southpaws".

Next year, I'd like to form a team entirely composed of foreign players called the "Green Cardinals" or the "Green Cards" for short. While the first two teams were novelties, I think that the Green Cards would actually be THE most dominant team in any league.
