Cashman earning the contract extension...yes indeed.

With any luck Pavano will miss the whole season and the Yanks can get some money back from the insurance.

May 21 Updating previous reports, New York Yankees SP Carl Pavano (elbow) will undergo surgery Thursday, May 26, for a bone chip above his right elbow, according to the Associated Press. He will not be allowed to resume a throwing program for at least six weeks following the surgery.

:-° his bones are weaker than my baby cousin's. :-t

I just read a story w/ Cashman saying that Pavano would start throwing again in like 2-3 weeks (it was a story from this week...) and that he was pretty sure he'd be back this year. I'll try and find it....

I have visions of Matsui and Pavano coming back white-hot and leading a September charge to the division and the Series. ;-D

A boy can dream...

This is a few days old...

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/story/421109p-355505c.html

Pavano may return

Carl Pavano underwent successful arthroscopic surgery yesterday to remove a bone chip from his right elbow and the Yankees believe he will pitch for them later this season.

"He can start throwing as early as three weeks from now, so we will be getting him back this year," GM Brian Cashman said.

Pavano, who signed a four-year, $39.95million contract before the 2005 season, hasn't pitched in the majors since last June 27 because of a variety of injuries. After nearly completing a rehab program, Pavano came out of a minor-league start after only nine pitches and a day later couldn't straighten his arm because of the bone chip and doctors determined he needed an operation.
