Is there any doubt that this is the guy to hope the Sox can acquire before the deadline. I know Omar Minaya says he's not trading him, but the fact is Vazquez is due for a big raise that the Expos can't afford. If Minaya is a rational GM (and I don't know that he is) then he will get something for Vazquez, in which case all the talk of not trading him is just postering.

I would pretty much sell the farm for this guy because he is a young established pitcher with dominant stuff. He can help us win now and later. Any "can't miss" prospects the Sox deal away for him (and let's hope Fossum is one of them) would be lucky achieve the success Vazquez is destined for.

Even though Vaz went to the Yanks, the Sox got Schilling. Can't complain about that.
