waiver strategy on hamels

Postby cy23young » Mon May 15, 2006 10:12 pm

well i had the 3 waiver and used it on hamels. i knew the guy with the first priority waiver would use it on hamels. the guy is sharp and always in the money in our league. he always picked up guys he wanted without using his waiver. anyone else use this strategy to get the number 1 waiver used on hamels, instead of giving it away for free.

everyone does that. i used my #3 on delmon and got him. 8-o But from then on i've been placing my last waiver on every prospect that i wanted so everyone would have to use their waiver or else id get another top prospect, like kendrick :-D . #1 waiver used his on Hamels. :-]

well, if i didnt make a move, i think the guy with the #1 waiver would of got a free pass on hamels.

They're using their non number 1 waivers to force the other people to use their higher up waivers. It's a win-win for them: They either get a top prospect or get moved up in the waiver line.

I do the same thing, I pick up everyone and constantly stay as the 12th waiver, so while everyone else waits for risky waiver pickups to hit the FA list, I pick up everyone I want since I'm already a 12th waiver and it doesn't matter. I've been 12th waiver all year and haven't missed anyone I wanted to pick up.
