In a Head-to-Head Points League where there you set your lineup once at the start of each week, what do you guys think the best way to choose a 2-start pitcher is? Do you weigh the pitchers stats such as k/9, WHIP, ERA etc. or do you look at the team they pitch for; versus the two teams they will pitch against. Rarely there is a situation where you can find a pitcher with good stats going up vs weak teams on the waivers. A good example of this would be my 10 team league I'm in or CBS. My 2-starters that i have from waivers for this week are:
Tom Glavine (@STL , vs NYY)
Joe Blanton (vs SEA , vs SF)
Paul Byrd (vs KC , vs PIT)
Josh Johnson (@ ATL , @TB)
So it got me thinking, what kind of pitcher has the best chance to get me the most points for a given week? Should i rely more heavily on talent of the pitcher or the matchups of the pitcher?
Heres the scoring system:
Thanks,
Leber
Edit: All 4 of these guys are starting for me this week. No need for discussion about whether i should start them or not(as the deadline has passed already) but the question of talent vs matchups in general.
