I'm taking a chance with this....but last season a lot of people had Cuddyer labeled has a breakout candidate. He was a pretty highly thought of as a prospect, but just never produced at the major league level. He's 26 this year and so far is having a good year and is FINALLY starting to get some regular playing time. He's eligible at 2B so he could be a good pickup. I could be wrong but don't say I didn't warn ya From what I've read and seen he has always had some kind of naging injury, but this year his swing finally looks healthy. .280-.300 with 25HR is a possibility which is pretty good for a 2B.
I picked him up to use as a utility/fill in player. On Yahoo he is listed as a 2B, 3B, or OF. This can come in handy with rainouts or day offs (such as today).

he is definitely not worth dropping someone like weeks for. cuddyer might be someone you wanna stash on your bench as a utility guy or just ride him while he's hot for some of your slumping players.
but in the long run you're going to want to keep weeks over cuddyer easily.
Here is an interesting question. Would you rather have Cuddyer or Lowell as your 2b backup? Lowell is putting up fairly good numbers.
The funny thing is that my platoon of Weeks & Lowell is outperforming Utley (small consolation for not keeping Utley, but I'll take whatever victory I can get).

missed out on him last week. i was looking at him as a brandon phillips replacement....until brandon stole 3 bases in one game.
but i could not front on his mulit-position eligiblity....and hitting around the clean up spot in his lineup.
