I thought it was coming yesterday. Weathers loads the bases after another clean Coffey outing. All we need is a base hit to lose the game. But he wiggles off the hook, and then pitches a good second inning. Job saved for...another day? Week? Who knows....
I'm not one to say a player is garbage or that crap. And Weathers certainly isn't. But it's amazing to me that a decade after he was the fourth or fifth guy in the Yankee bullpen that someone would decide he ought to be their closer. Guy's got staying power, that's for sure.
