I don't see Brandon McCarthy on any two-start pitcher lists...is he only going to pitch one game?

McCarthy's starts were pushed back a day because of a rainout last week. That means Contreras is now a possible starter next weekend if he doesn't have any setbacks. According to today's Sun Times, Contreras is feeling good. My guess is that he'll pitch next Sunday instead of McCarthy.

Actually I think Contreras is slated to start on Saturday right now, but either way I believe McCarthy will only get the one start.

Anyone know what McCarthy's chances are of taking Garlands spot in the rotation? Garland doesn't seem to be faring well right now.

I think it depends really on how McCarthy pitches. If he pitches well witch I think he does they might give him another start and then if he pitches better then Garland then he could take Garlands spot but thats just my opinion.

I dont think McCarthy will take Garlands spot, altho Garland is proven, he will work thru this, atleast I hope so as I have him in 3 of my leagues...... :-o

From everything I hear in Chicago, it's highly unlikely that McCarthy takes Garland's spot, at least in the near future. Seems like they'll give Garland every opportunity to work through this.

Ozzie Guillen is pretty loyal to his players.
Many Sox fans felt McCarthy should have been on the post season roster last year but Guillen stuck with El Duque. It would be a huge suprise if Garland gets banished to the bullpen any time soon.
