News: The Baltimore Orioles will have to go a little bit longer without injured second baseman Brian Roberts, who has abandoned his bid to leave the disabled list after a minimum 15-day absence. Roberts went on the disabled list April 30 with a strained groin and was eligible to return on Monday. "I think tomorrow is probably pushing it," Roberts said Sunday. "Certainly I'd love to play, but I want to be smart." Roberts tested the injury in the batting cage and felt no discomfort. But he has yet to risk running full-tilt.
Analysis: Roberts is fearful of rushing back and re-injuring himself. The Orioles have also considered that scenario, so they will probably hold off activating him until Friday, following a three-game series at home against the Boston Red Sox. Keep Roberts reserved for the upcoming scoring period.
So, it looks like he'll be activated Friday. Thank goodness.
Man, now I'll have Roberts and Phillips as my 2nd basemen, with no utility room because of Hafner, guess I'll have to swing a trade, although making a trade in Yahoo public leagues is about as hard as shooting ducks while blindfolded
This is yahoo's latest update, why do they bother?
May 17 Spencer Fordin, of Baltimore.Orioles.MLB.com, reports Baltimore Orioles 2B Brian Roberts (groin) practiced fielding groundballs Tuesday, May 16, for the first time since he strained his groin. Roberts is expected to play Wednesday, May 17, although he is not sure whether he will play with Double-A Bowie or with the big-league club.

That's rather encouraging actually. Thanks for the update.
Brian Roberts is still bothered by tightness in his groin. He won't come off the disabled list until Sunday at the earliest.
All indications were that Roberts would be back at second base for tonight's game. Instead, Ed Rogers is playing. It's possible that Roberts will miss at least several more games. Even if he does return Sunday, he might not be much of a basestealer intially.
