Salmon and Rivera in the 5/6 Hole, Looks Like a Winner?

Two games is not much of a sample, but the last two games is the best the Angels offense has looked all year with Salmon and Rivera in the 5/6 hole.

I was skeptical about Salmon at the start of the year, but 5HR and 75 AB with a .280 BA is legit power numbers. I think he's won the DH job hands down.

Rivera I think deserves the next shot to crack the starting lineup.

Then I think Erstad, Kotchman, McPherson and Kendrick battle it out for first.

Erstad should not get any more than 4 starts per week when he comes back, two in CF and two at 1b. That allows Salmon and Rivera 5 starts per week.

kendrick got optioned back down to the minors...and they brought up aybar who is more of a defensive option in my mind then kendrick...

i personally think rivera should be an everday player...whether its at dh or preferably in the field since he has a great arm...

I agree on Rivera, he should have the shot at a full time job, and I think he is going to get it here over the next 6 weeks or so.

Aybar has more experience than Kendrick. Perhaps the thinking is he'll have more success immediately at the plate.

Kenndrick has really moved up fast. Did not have a whole year at AA last year, 1 month a AAA before the call up, a lot to ask of a player. I think they probably did the right thing sending him down. He got a taste, knows what he needs to work on now.
