Actually, the Yanks do have a few built back up now, but they would be foolish to immediately deplete it again. Cashman is pretty committed to keeping his young players at this time.
That's the problem when you're talking about the Yankees having a hole. Everyone who plays that position, who is in a contract year, who is on a losing team, anything, someone comes up with rumors that they will be traded to the Yankees.

And then, generally, one of the rumors comes true, because the Yankees always get their man.

If they were smart, they'd just suck it up for the next 2 years and start rebuilding around A-Rod, Jeter, Cano, and Matsui.
A 200 million dollar team that needs to rebuild. Excuse me while I laugh a little. The Marlins need to rebuild. All the Yankees need to do is go shopping from some fading, overrated talent and demand answers when they fall short in the playoffs again.
