How large is the actgive roster? I doubt he's worth a pickup. Assuming your rosters aren't too large, I don't think setup men are worth speculating on until a change is imminent.

My personal feeling is that a change isn't coming unless/until Weathers really shows signs of weakness. They have to be pretty pleased with how he's done so far. He's looked shaky at times, but he's mostly getting the job done. Blowing a one run lead the other day doesn't put him in that much jeopardy. Also, bear in mind that the writer was really pushing an angle for this piece. I do think the day will come when they try something other than Weathers, but the article was a little 'sensational' about it. Coffey has been good so far, but it's a small sample size and he hasn't exactly been a rock in the past. Who knows if Coffey will keep maintain his performance until the time Weathers falters.

How soon he gets the role will depend on how many more saves Weathers blows in the near future. The Reds are doing a little better than many expected so far and can't afford to let a guy with a sub-1.00 ERA sit there while Weathers keeps blowing saves.

But, if Weathers saves his next few chances, likely a change doesn't take place anytime soon.

I guess in the end it is a gamble - do you think Weathers will save/blow his next few chances? Depending on your guess, this would answer whether Coffey is someone to pick up now. Me personally, I'm surprised Weathers has lasted this long and, as such, I have no idea how much longer he can keep it up.

Some guy in my league has Lidge, Cordero, Wheeler. I feel bad for anyone who took Lidge over KRod. A 4th/5th round pick wasted on a guy that's essential to a specific cat. ouch

This is why I never draft closers before round 10. But I had bad luck so far this year.
