I've been sitting with the #1 waiver all season long and I'm going to take a flyer on him......every year there's someone like him, gotta be worth a shot in my 16 man league where the WW is very thin.

Feeling like a genius right about now for picking him up last week. Although after saying that he'll get shelled in his next couple of starts. ;-)

Yeah well it would be great if Yahoo would let you be a genius. I've been keeping up with this guy since last season as the broker at my real estate firm is a die hard Phillies fan and he was telling me about seeing him pitch in the minors. I would have picked him up in our draft if people at Yahoo would get off there ass and add people the right way. Now he is added to our league, everyone in the league but me are die hard Reds fans, living in Lexington, and everyone has seen him pitch now. So I am probably screwed as I am in the middle of the waiver wire order. The same thing happened to me last year b/c I messed up and told a guy about King Felix early in the year before he knew he existed. What leagues do you guys use where waiver wires are managed properly? I would gladly pay to be in one just b/c of aggrevation like this.

he also had 5 walks, so it's not as good as it sounds. but still a solid outing

But, it was also raining, so who knows. Time will tell.

I am as well. It's nice to be able to pick guys up before they go out and throw a gem like that, and not waste a waiver order to boot. Sportsline has tons of minor league prospects waiting to be picked up, which comes in handy in keeper leagues and deep bench leagues.

I'm amazed that he was a FA in all three of my Yahoo leagues.

(Needless to say this is no longer the case as I snagged him across the board...)

He had better be worth the hype!

same here. I used my waiver spot for him in several leagues. There was only one league that I didn't land him...better competition...more people pay close attention.

I used my 6th out of 10 waiver on him in my money league and then was ridiculed for it. I'm going to be the one laughing I think, but I was really surprised that they valued their waiver so much that they wouldn't take a chance on the best pitching prospect in the NL who played pretty well his first game....isn't he the prototype for what to save your waiver for? Especially in a competitive league where nobody is going to drop a quality starter...
