In my fantasy baseball league, I have Papelbon. Basically, everytime I get something from him, the Red Sox win. I was offered a trade for Rivera, but I have to throw in Kelvim Escobar.
When the Yanks win they generally blow people out. Also, Escobar is pretty good.
My team isn't that good, but when D. Lee comes back to form, I should be a contender.
Damn. I think I make my team worse with this trade, unless Pap goes into the starting lineup, but with the way he is playing, that seems unlikely. Do I make my team worse and root for my team, or do I keep things the way they are and root for the rival to close out games?

Something only you can decide. Most people will say that you have to put personal biases aside and just make the best team you can or else you're just unnecessarily hampering yourself. I'd probably agree with that. But ultimately, your goal is to have fun (and maybe make a bit of $$), so if you're torturing yourself by having Papelbon then I guess you can consider trading him.
Even if you're going to trade him, though, I wouldn't do any trade that you really think is bad for you. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be more than happy to get a K-per-inning closer who's let up 1 run all year, so I'm sure you could find a fair deal for him.

I'd have to suspect they know he's a Yankee fan. They probably played 'Enter Sandman' to get him to close the deal!!
I'd blow off the 'homer pick' and keep Papelbon there as he's cheaper and is doing pretty well.
