A friend just sent me this list of "facts." I find some of them hard to believe. I know a few are true for certain. Unfortunately, Snopes doesn't have a page for this list yet. I was hoping the Cafe could help me out. If you know one of these is untrue, please let me know.
The list:

Forty people are sent to the hospital every minute from a dog bite. 8. Babies are born without knee-caps, they don't appear until ages 2-6 yrs. 9. The average person over 50 has spent 5 years waiting in line. 10. The toothbrush was invented in 1498. 11. The average housefly lives for one month. 12. 40,000 Americans are injured by toilets each year. 13. A coat hanger is 44" long when straightened. 14. In most television commercials advertising milk, a mixture of white paint & a little thinner is used in place of the milk. 22. Well, I'm quite certain that Hitchcock, being a mammal, was born with a belly button. That I'm sure of. Maybe he had an operation, I don't know. But I can't imagine that they're all true.
I have heard most of them before...not sure how many are true or not though...
18 is not true however...several types of lizards also have that ability..
Useless Trivia of the day
England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.
12. 40,000 Americans are injured by toilets each year.
Who's dumb enough to get attacked by a toilet?
Worded poorly to say the least.
I'm not sure #24 is correct. Not sure that's even legal without the mother's consent. I'm not in the medical field though, so I could be completely wrong. I don't know, just doesn't sound like it's true.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

i was going to say the same thing...maybe people accidentaly sit on their balls
#8 is definitely not true. Babies do indeed have knee caps when they are born, but they are more or less softer tissue then the actual knee cap is in adults. When a baby is born, you can not see the knee cap on a Xray due to the bone being softer then an adult bone, but it is still there and does harden up normally around the age of 2 or so.
