My team has serious issues - please help

I thought I would be ok offensively, but my guys have been bad. My pitching is pretty strong, so I can dangle a pitcher for a big bat. Should I trade a lesser pitcher (Harang) for a lesser bat? Or try to make a huge splash by putting Carpenter as bait, and try to land a stud batter? And who would you target?

Your team does not have serious issues, just cold issues. ARod and Jeter and Jones will be fine. So will Abreu and Varitek. Cantu will come back and be a fine 2B. Your weakest spot to me is 1B, and Johnson has actually been hot. Don't dangle Carpenter. Your SP isn't all that good without him. Maybe dangle Capuano or someone else for a 1B. I think your hitting is (or will be) solid.

Cantu's return will be a nice boost to your team. With Arod at 3rd, you can afford to dangle Rolen as trade bait. Maybe combine him with Harang for a strong hitting 1B or an upgrade at RP. I would hang on to Carpenter though.

What are the best names available on the waiver wire? I would look into maybe doing some add/drops involving Patterson and/or Broussard.
