I was just running through one of my teams yearly stats. I noticed that through all the hype and hooplah Maddux had 9 wins, Wood has 10. Maddux has a ratio of 1.20, Wood .. 1.18. Obviouslly Wood has more K's but Maddux has to be the better option for win's. (better team).
Then it hit me .... Greg has 142 IP and Wood 141 IP. The fricking baseball season is almost over. You can only expect 60 or 70 innings from each major starter. What's that 10 starts? 5-6 wins? (Figure that a Quality Pitcher make 32-36 starts a year and 15-18 wins equals a quality pitcher, or (<50% of starts equals a win)), Every single start matters more than ever. If you need to make a move in pitching, now is the time. Tomorrow may be to late. ERA and RATIO will become very hard to bring down.
The Fricking season is almost over ........... depression sets in, oh well, the winter meeting's will start soon I guess. Thats always fun. Has this season just flown by or what?

Well they only get 75-100 AB's in the winter so its kinda of tuff. But hey, I forgot the Lakers ... That will keep me pacified at least until Feb. of course then it's baseball season again, 2004 and everyone will overpay for Prior, Harden, Willis, Lowell. It will be fun
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Well, there's always trade and free agent talk, deals being made in keeper leagues, prospects to consider, early mock drafts... We'll be here for all of it!
