HELENA, Mont. (AP) -- An 18-year-old pitcher who was hit in the head by a batted baseball died Saturday.
Brandon Patch, a pitcher for the Miles City Mavericks, was hit in the fifth inning of an American Legion game against the Helena Senators on Friday night.
Patch was motionless on the ground for 20 to 30 minutes before being taken to a hospital. He was later flown to a hospital in Great Falls and placed on life support.
Patch died early Saturday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
A game scheduled Saturday between the two teams was canceled.
I feel for his family...I hate when I hear about stuff like this...
