FRod and the starting pitching aren't too bad but when every batter after the cleanup spot is a whose who in baseball putridity then that spells doom for those boys from Anaheim. We're talking juan Rivera? Kotchman? Adam Kennedy? Jose freaking Molina? Tommy flipping Murphy?
That's good news for the other West teams..
And another thing...those Tejas unis with "Los Rangers" on them...are those their normal unis? Or just once in a while?
My Friendliness bar...recently shrunk from 11.3 to 10mm long!!

It was just a Cinco de Mayo thing, I think.

Yeah.
Besides Vlad and Chone, the Angels cannot hit. At all.
Anderson has lost a step, O-Cab will cool off... not looking good for the Angels.

Murphy looked like a good hitter in the limited time I saw him this weekend.

Yeah, I always thought the Angels had a pretty decent lineup and could put up some runs. But after watching them against the Jays this weekend (Murphy? Napoli? Kendrick? etc.), I realize how much Guerrero will have to carry this offence.
Makes me a little nervous having Lackey and Escobar...

My dream is they trade for Miggy Cabrera.... Cabrera's due for a big salary bump this winter from arbotration. The Angels have the revenue and owner willing to sign Miggy to a long term deal. I'm not sure the Marlins owner wants to pay Miggy next year... and the Angels have the minor league talent to make a nice deal for the Marlins.

The ANgels bats (minus Vlad and Figgy) are either overrated or ageing... That year the Angeles won it all they got lucky in that they were just hot at the right time... Pitching got hot, even their 8 and 9 hitters were hitting.
Now they've got either aged vets on the downslope of a career or hyped kids who aren't playing up to the hype... They need a guy like Miggy Cabrera to light some fire in that lienup.

talking about overrated, how about that angel farm system. i was listening to angels talk last week and a caller talke about how maybe the angels farm system is overrated. that got me thinking. he might be right.
kotchman hasn't panned out so far.
Mcpherson has just been putrid. he might never have a future with the angels.
mathis has been a dissapointment and has already been sent down.
santana has been OK. not really impressive.
turnbow and jenks never really developed under angel tutelage. that's why the were left unprotected. now they're looking like studs!!
i think they may just need a little more time. we still have morales, kendrick, and wood who look like future stars. but so did mcpherson and kotchman.
thoughts guys?
