So I guess punting works.

So I drafted this team looking to punt HR and RBI to gain a lock on SB and K. I expected to finish in the 4-6 range and hope for the best in the playoffs. But now 5 weeks in, I'm in first place by 3.5 games.
I certainly didn't expect this, and it's not like my players are overachieving except for vizquel. If anything, they're underachieving.


Anyway, I guess the only think I need is another closer so I'm looking to move halladay for a top tier closer and a decent starter.

So if you didn't get the idea, my offense is basically a collection of leadoff guys who hit for average, dont strike out, steal bags and score runs. Lowell and Gibbons are pretty much only there for 2b, but I guess they're good at AVG and K as well (It's hard to find any decent 1b or 3b leadoff guys).

Any suggestions?

It seems like the biggest thing you need is power. All your guys are pretty much just speedy, or get you a bunch of runs, but nobody seems to be giving you a bunch of RBIs or HRs. Your pitching is pretty sold though, but could use some touching up, since Clemens is not pitching, and Walker aint the most reliable closer. Here are my suggestions:

Trade away one of your guys that gets a lot of SBs for a power hitter, maybe Ichiro for another OF. And maybe trade for a more reliable closer, since Tyler Walker, I expect will do no more than a mediocre job.

if u change ur mind, try trading 2 of ur speed guys for a solid power bat, if not look at wigginton or maybe kearns as some power... saves look at Putz from SEA and Burgos from KC as quick fixes....
