My first ever sig!

Postby brandnew » Mon May 08, 2006 12:36 am

Check it out. I just looked at the tutorial post, downloaded gimp, and whipped this together in about a half hour :-b

The cropping is horrible :*) and I just put a bunch of diamonds on the background... but hey it was fun :-D

Oh, and there's an "a" in there that I couldn't get rid of :*) :-b

How do you like Gimp? I'm trying to find a graphics alternative to Photoshop because I don't have $700 to fork over for software I'm just going to use for fun and sigs and stuff.

Has anyone else used Gimp, and if so, how do you like it? Any tips or tricks or warnings? I'm using a Mac, so does that change anything?

I made a bet in 2003 that the Devil Rays would win the 2008 World Series. Oh so close.

Never used the Gimp but I can tell you I didn't pay $700 for my photoshop either ;-) Trust me if you can get photoshop one way or the other (not endorsing any illegal activities or anything) its definitely worth it ;-D

I would bet that not very many people on here paid for their version of PS, how this was accomplished is up to your own imagination...

Thanks! I made about a dozen Tolkein-related sigs a week or so ago. They're pretty bland, though, which is why I'm looking for something to edit them with besides my VERY OLD version of Photoshop (4.1 I believe).
