There are a lot of great playoff series. Some people look at the pitching, hitting or the defense that wins series. I'm looking at the comeback. In the 2004 ALCS, Boston vs New York. It was a huge comeback. The RedSox got swept in NewYork loosing the first 2 games. Coming back to Boston they lost the game. All hopes were up except the fans. The Redsox Had to win all 4 games to get into the World Series. They won 2 more games in Boston but still down 2 games going into one of the hardest places to play in October. Some how they worked as team and some luck in the final innings and come out and win.

A few teams in history has ever came back from 3 games and end up winning the series. The Redsox played great baseball. Went into a very hard stadium that is always packed in october. This series has to be the best comeback in history. So many people counted them out. They played well and just flat out beat the Yankees. I'm not saying it is the best series but It has to be top 7 series of all time.

Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS was over by the 2nd inning. You want comebacks I've got a comeback for you. You want rivals, I've got 2 great rivals playing in the same city. You want history, I've got it. Greatest playoff series ever is...

1951 Giants vs. Dodgers
The Dodgers held a 13 1/2 game lead over the Giants as late as August 11th, when their manager Chuck Dressen famously declared "The Giants is dead!" Well when the season ended they were tied and the a 3 game playoff would determine who would win the pennant. The cross town rivals split the first 2 games and it all came down to game 3. Up 4-2 in the bottom of the 9th the Dodgers seemed to be on their way to the World Series. Then came the immortal moment, the "Shot Heard 'Round the World." Thomson hit a three-run homer over the left field wall to give the Giants a 5-4 victory, leading to Russ Hodges' fabled radio call: "The Giants win the pennant! The Giants win the pennant!"

Yea but they didnt have to go into Yankee Stadium in October which is one of the hardest stadiums and come out with the series. I know the game was done in the 2nd but they were done the whole series and that was what happened to Boston each game and the Yanks troused them. It was there way of getting back and showing everyone that they came back and are for real.
